What other clical music might I like?

I would suggest symphonies of the late 19th and early 20th centuries; so many of them strove to be like Beethoven's 9th. You might like Bruckner if you find Mahler too cynical, or Mahler if you find Bruckner too sanctimonious (or you might like them both, you'll have to let us know).
