Why was it was easier to find Saddam in a hole in a garden than it was to find Osama in a mansion?

It just seems odd that it took far less time to find Saddam Hussein in this little hole in someone's back garden than it did to find Osama Bin Laden in a mansion in Pakistan that was supposedly eight times bigger than anything else in the neighborhood, had these huge guard walls, and where they burned their trash.
