Pronunciation Yahoo?

I live in Plymouth where the regional accent is strong yet it is not my hometown, I have a southern accent which is something akin to "Queens English". When I say Yahoo, it sounds like Yar-hoo and my friends always laugh and say that it should be Yahoo, like the yanks say it, but they are from Plymouth and have the country bumpkin accent anyway. Am I saying it correctly or not?
