Do you think people would be so upset if the immigration crackdown was focused on Arabs?

I am a US citizen I serve in the military it has taken me 4 years and counting to get my fiance a visa to even step foot in the US. She is a lebanese citizen who is a refugee in the UK as a result of Israel Bombing Beirut. How come no one is protesting our rights?
